Born on the island of Maui, in the town of Wailuku, my early years were immersed in the stunning Hawaiian beauty. At the age of 10 years old, I moved to the town of Waianae on the island of Oahu; a place I proudly call home but one that presented challenges during my upbringing.
Growing up in Waianae,
I have profound sense of pride and love for my community, which flourished in the midst of the breathtaking natural beauty that enveloped us. Yet, like many, I faced difficulties, including bullying. To protect myself, I realized the importance of self-defense.
My father, an avid fan of the professional boxer Marvin "Marvelous" Hagler, inspired my interest in martial arts and even named me Marvelous. Around age of 16 years old, I began my journey into mixed martial arts (MMA) and alternated between kickboxing and MMA; honing my skills.
In 2012, I discovered Muay Thai, my true passion. However, in 2016, with the fight record of 6-3 and at the age of 31 years old, I transitioned into coaching to support my family; turning my passion into a rewarding journey.
Starting with kids' classes, I expanded to Muay Thai and cardio classes. In 2016, I launched Boogyman Muay Thai Academy.
Over the years, I trained diverse fighters and earned accolades like Best Coach on Maui for 2023-2024. We proudly participated in Hawai’i's first sanctioned Muay Thai event and showcased our talent in the Muay Thai Development League (MDLS) with seven of our students participating in the event.
My journey from Waianae to founding Boogyman Muay Thai Academy is a testament to perseverance, passion, and community support. I'm excited to continue shaping the next generation of fighters and sharing the love of Muay Thai with the world. Thank you for being part of my story.

Coach Marvelous has been my coach since the beginning of my mma career, over 9 years as my striking coach we have traveled and competed around Hawai’i & the United States.

I could write a novel about marv, but the biggest thing I admired out of the millions of things, is his drive to always evolve as a human, coach and a Muay Thai specialist. His knowledge and way of breaking down every aspect of technique and reasoning behind why you would do such a move is what keeps your mind growing.
